Martin Luther Horn died September 15, 1950 at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 17 days. He was born November 28, 1860 in Marion County, Iowa and later came to Boyden vicinity in a covered wagon with Clarence Rheberg in 1887 to farm. On October 29, 1896 he was married to Margaret Kroll.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Dora Rholfs of Sioux City, one son, Wayne of Richmond, California, one grandson, Roger Rohlfs, a brother, Prentice Horn of Boyden and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Sharp of Spirit Lake.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 19, at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 o’clock in the United Presbyterian Church of which he was a member for 50 years. Reverend C. Postma officiated. Interment was in the Boyden Cemetery.

Pallbearers were George Kerstan, Ray Schafer, Howard Harman, Peter Rol, Joe Horn and George Horn.

Wayne Horn arrived home on Monday and is spending several weeks with his mother. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Timm and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frahm of Grinnell, Iowa.
