Funeral services for John Hoffs, 65, were held Monday, December 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the Newkirk Reformed Church with the Reverend John Smith officiating. Burial was made at the Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Harold Van Zandbergen, Marion Van Zandbergen, Harley Grotenhuis, Henry Van Zee, Ervin Van Zee and A.J. Van Zee. Mr. Lloyd Grotenhuis provided the special music with Mrs. Adeline De Boer at the organ.

Mr. John Hoffs, son of Henry and Mary (Zorgdrager) Hoffs was born February 8, 1904. He was married to Deveatie Van Zee on January 19, 1929.

Surviving are the widow; a son-in-law, Mr. Marion De Kock of Hawarden; one grandson, Mark De Kock of Hawarden; one brother, Albert Hoffs of Sheldon; and one sister, Mrs. Arie (Trina) Van Zandbergen of Orange City.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mrs. Donna Joan De Kock, who passed away April 2, 1963.
