Willard Lee Boscaljon was born November 14, 1933 to Bill and Mabel (Ross) Boscaljon on the family farm near Doon, Iowa. Willard attended Doon area school and was part of the occupation forces after the Korean War where he was a mail carrier. After his service he attended Northwestern Junior College in Orange City, Iowa and Cedar Falls (Iowa) Teacher’s College to get his teaching degree.
During college he met his future wife, Arlene Punt, while cruising Orange City on a Sunday evening. They were married August 4, 1960 at the Carmel Reformed Church.
After his first few teaching years at Hull High School, they moved to North Dakota where he received a grant to continue his education. They then moved to Sanborn where Willard taught High School and Junior High science and drivers education for over 31 years; until his retirement in 1995.
Willard enjoyed reading, playing cards, wood working, fishing, camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Willard and Arlene were members of Sanborn Reformed Church where he served as Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Teacher.
Early on Memorial Day, May 29, 2017, Willard went to be with the Lord at age 83. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Arlene of Sanborn, Iowa; three children: Charlene (Curtis) Mastbergen of Sioux City, Iowa, Dr. Brian (Michelle) of Erie, Pennsylvania and Linda (Mike) Japenga of Chandler, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Harriet Jean Boscaljon; as well as other relatives and friends.
Willard was preceded in his death by his parents, two brothers, Donald and Gordon and sister-in-law, Lena.
