Sioux City, IA: Cletus Gacke, 84, of Sioux City, formerly of Inwood, Iowa, died Monday, May 29, 2017 at UnityPoint Health-St. Lukes in Sioux City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 1 at 1:30 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Rock Valley with Father Bruce Lawler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Rock Valley. Visitation, with the family present will be held at Porter Funeral Home in Inwood on Wednesday, May 31 from 5:30-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Condolences may be left for the family at www.porterfuneralhomes.com.
 
Cletus Paul Gacke, son of August T. and Irene M. (Weigman) Gacke, was born September 23, 1932 in Alvord, Iowa. Cletus attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1951. Cletus was united in marriage with Lorraine Bosler on April 11, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alvord. Cletus was drafted into the Army from 1954-1956 and served 1 year in Korea. He then attended mechanic school in Omaha for 9 months. He used that training to help him as he owned and operated the Phillips 66 Service Station in Inwood, Iowa for 31 years. After retiring, Cletus and Lorraine spent the last few years living in Sioux City, Iowa. Cletus enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially dancing.  
 
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine; 4 children, Randy (Carla) Gacke of Inwood, Linda (Roger) Wagner of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Judi (Scott) Driesen of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Nancy (Frank) Marino of Sioux City; son-in-law, Lyle Van Maanen of Rock Valley; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Vincent (Bonnie) Gacke of Larchwood, Iowa; sister, Barbara (Jerry) Leighton of Sacramento, California; and many nieces and nephews.
 
Cletus was preceded in death by his parents, August and Irene; daughter, Joann Van Maanen; brothers, Joseph and Bernard Gacke; sisters, Mary Cunningham, Esther McParland; and an infant sister, Ethyl Gacke.
