Died Saturday Morning from Cerebral Abscess, was a life Long Resident of Community.

Mrs. Ed C. Weir a life long resident of Hull, passed away at her home at eight o’clock Friday morning, Jan 19th, following a ten weeks illness, a cerebral abscess being the cause of her death. Her condition was first considered serious the first of December and the family was called to her bedside; she rallied and it was hoped that she might recover, and the Holidays in the family home will always be a sweet memory.

To her loved ones. Adelina Putnam, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Putnam, was born on the homestead in Sioux County, North east of Hull, on August 4, 1873, and passed away at the age of 66 years 5 months and 13 days. She received her schooling in the Sheldon public school and made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Bulelte, and her aunt, Mrs. Augeline Donovan, during those years. Later she attended the Hull Academy and taught school for three years.

She was married Oct 2, 1894 to Edward C. Weir, at St. Joseph’s Church in Hull, where they have since resided. Four children were born to this union who, with the husband, survive. They are Eva, who is associate professor of English in the University of Idaho, Southern Branch at Pocatello Idaho; Mary Mrs. Fred Banks of Primghar: Loretta mathematics instructor in the Franklin Junior high school at Pocatella Idaho; and Edward Jr. principal of the Moville IA high school. The children with the exception of Miss Loretta were present at the funeral.

She is also survived by one sister, Cecelia (Mrs. Frank Plowman) of Spring Point Alberta Can. one brother Charles Putnam of Long Beach CA, both unable to be present at the funeral and five grandchildren; Addie, Lon, Gail, Billie, Ann and Carolyn Banks. Her parents, three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
