Mr. Weir herded cattle on the range just north of town, when he first came here, and many sections which now have three or four sets of buildings on them were then nothing but prairie.

In 1904 he was married to Adeline Putnam of Hull and at one time she assisted him in operating a café, on of his many business ventures. He held the position of District Deputy of the Modern Woodman of America at on time and traveled extensively throughout the State during his tenure in office. In his declining years he continued in the insurance business and served as a justice of the Peace. He will be truly missed in the community as he was a friend of all. He was a member of the Sheldon Council of the knights of Columbus.

A niece, Miss Nellie Healy , and her mother, Mrs. Mary Healy made their home with him after the death of His wife in 1946. Mrs. Healy passed away three years ago and Miss Healy continued to make her home with him and assisted in caring for him. His daughter Eva spent the summer with him, having returned to her college work only a few weeks ago. Dr. Eva Wier and Loretta Wier who were present at the services have returned to their work in Idaho.
