From the Rock Valley Bee, December 28, 1923:

A. A. ROBERTS DEAD

A. A. Roberts, Vice President of The First National Bank at Hancock, Minn., for the past twenty years, died at his home at Hancock, at 1:30 Friday P.M. from heart failure. He was sitting in a chair at his home at the time and apparently was as well as usual when he suddenly passed away without a moment's warning.

Mr. Roberts formerly lived in Rock Valley for many years before going to Hancock, in fact, this was his boyhood home, and he grew to manhood here. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Roberts who were pioneer residents of this vicinity. They both preceded him in death about two years ago.

Mr. Roberts leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. Mecklenburg, of Gilby, S.D., and two sisters, Cora and Edna and one brother, Grant, all of whom are in California. Funeral services were held at Hancock Sunday afternoon.

Word was received here last week that Arthur Roberts of Hancock, Minn., dropped dead Friday Dec. 21 of heart failure. Mr. Roberts resided here for many years and at one time was deputy sheriff. It was a shock to his relatives and a surprise to his many friends as he seemed to be in apparent good health previous to his death.
