Eleanor DeBruin Bowen, Marion, IA died Thursday, April 27 of cancer.

     Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 20 at First United Methodist Church of Marion.

     Eleanor was born at home on June 18, 1939 in Sioux Center, IA to Willard Henry and Margaret VanRennes DeBruin. She graduated from Sioux Center High School and State University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

     Eleanor is survived by her children Nancy Haney of Marion, Patti (Darrin) Cisar of Grand Junction, CO, John (Jackie) Bohlken of Whittier and Ruth Bohlken of San Diego, CA, five step children, 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great, great grandson, her brothers Bill (Janet) DeBruin of Germantown, WI and Harold (Jim) DeBruin of Sioux Center, a nephew, Aaron Kasper and a niece, Karen Kasper both of Indiana. She is also survived by cousins Joyce Adkins and Jim VanRennes of Sheldon, Paul Adkins and Ted DeHoogh of Sioux Center, Donna Uhl, Fran Krommenhoek and Linda Golden of Sioux City, Jon DeBruin of Colo, Linda Eichblatt of Alice, TX, Ruth Fivecoat of Lancaster, WI, Jerry VanRennes of Chandler, AZ, Rich Boersma of Lyons, CO, John Ver Steeg of Kalamazoo, MI, Mick Boersma of La Marillo, CA, Donna Nibbelink of Valencia, CA, Marilyn Vander Maten of Surprise, AZ, Annebelle Baker of Camarillo, CA and Betty Sterud of Huntington Beach, CA.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan, her parents and her sister, Jane Kasper.
