Funeral services held for Yttje Driessen Funeral Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 10, in the First Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley for Mrs. Yttje (Ida) Driessen, 89, longtime resident of the Rock Valley area. Reverend John Byker officiated. Interment was in Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Driessen died last Thursday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto Van't Hul, following a lingering illness.

Mrs. Driessen, the former Yttje Faber, was born January 16, 1873, in The Netherlands. She came to the United States at the age of 18 and was married to John Hoekstra in Rock Valley two years later. Mr. Hoekstra died December 31, 1928. She was married to John Driessen, Sr., in September of 1944. Mr. Driessen died in September 1953.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Ida) Van't Hul, Rock Valley; two sons, Edward Hoekstra, Rock Valley, Peter Hoekstra, Doon; a brother, Simon Faber, Grand Rapids, Michigan; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Neal Hoekstra, a brother and three sisters.
