From the Alton Democrat, October 13, 1923, Rock Valley news:

The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gerritsen died Oct. 5th of spasms and was buried last Saturday. The little flower that budded but for a few days in the home was transplanted from the Eden below to the Eden above.

(No death notice was spotted in the Oct. 12 or 19 issues of the Rock Valley Bee. There is no entry for this child in the Sioux County Cemetery Index.)
