Mae M. Witt, 92, died Jan 7,2004 at the Finely Hospital, Dubuque. Funeral services were held Jan. 10 at Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home. Burial was at First Congregational United Church. of Christ, Columbarium.

Mae Witt was born Dec. 8, 1911 at Sloan, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Myrtle (Napier) Rhodes. She received her education in Hawarden. After graduation she worked at J. C. Penney for seven years. She married Howard Witt on April 4, 1936. They moved to Chicago, where she worked at Time Inc., retiring in 1952. Mr. Witt died in 1970. She moved to Dubuque in 1972. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Leo and Merton Rhodes; and two sisters, Rona Mollhoff and Iva Wagner.
