Arnold C. Hoefler, 87, of Granville, Iowa, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa. He was married to Clara (Brekel) Hoefler and they were together 62 years. Together, they had two sons, Jim and Father Bob. Clara and Arnold lived in Granville from 1946 on, first in town (no running water), then on a farm east of town (with running water), and finally in town again after retirement. Clara moved to Little Flower Haven in Earling, Iowa, in April 2008. Arnold died May 31, 2008.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville, with the Reverend Richard D. Ball and the Reverend Robert Hoefler con-celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Granville with graveside military services.

Friends may call anytime after 4 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a rosary at 5 p.m. by St. Joseph's Guild and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m., both at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville. The Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen is in charge of arrangements.
