YANKTON, SOUTH DAKOTA ~ Mary Kay Dimmick, 63, of Yankton, South Dakota, formerly of Hawarden, Iowa and Mitchell, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at her residence in Yankton.
   Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Hawarden, Iowa with Rev. Barb Joy officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Hawarden Community Center. The inurnment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Alcester, South Dakota. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden is assisting the family.    Mary Kay Dimmick was born April 27, 1953 in Yankton, South Dakota, the daughter of Donald and Rita (Roth) Johnson. She graduated from the Beresford High School in 1971. Kay married Raymond Dimmick on September 6, 1973 at Alcester, South Dakota. They lived in Hawarden, Iowa, Saginaw, Texas, and Mitchell, South Dakota before recently moving to Yankton, South Dakota due to her health.
   Kay liked to sew, read, and was a wonderful cook. She loved everyone, the Lord, her husband and family, friends and strangers… and also, a cold beer! Kay loved being a grandma and great-grandma, and was very proud of her children and their families.
   Survivors include her husband, Raymond Duane Dimmick; children, Robert Ray Dimmick of Jackson, Minnesota, Chad Corry Dimmick and wife Sarah Jo Dimmick of Yankton, South Dakota, and Jaime Rae Dimmick-Frame and husband John Scott Frame of Haltom City, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Virginia Waterman and husband Myron of Amarillo, Texas, Gloria Thompson of Alcester, South Dakota and Judy Westover and husband Merle of Hawarden, Iowa.
   Kay was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Corrine Johnson in 1956 and father, Donald Johnson in 1987.
