Funeral services were held at the Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley at 1:30 P.M., September 23, for Alex Heyman, 80, of Rock Valley, who died September 19 at a Rock Valley nursing home after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Reverend William Ballard and burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Mr. Heymen was the son of Theodore and Dirkje (Vander Velde) Heymen on March 14, 1894, at Rock Valley.

He married Henrietta VerWey July 28, 1919 in Rock Valley.

He was a veteran of World War I, member of the Masonic Lodge in Rock Valley and was also a carpenter.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Elda Mae) Potts of Libertyville, Illinois; a brother, Case of Hull, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Albertus of Pierre, South Dakota, and Mrs. Earl Perrin of Burbank, California; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
