Died: November 17, 1953

The body of Frank Henry, 58, long time resident, was found last Tuesday afternoon in his home in the north part of town.

The body was discovered by two neighbors, Ernest Bancroft and Clarence Carr. They went to the house because they had not seen Mr. Henry, who was a bachelor and lived alone, since Sunday morning.

Coroner Charles Vander Ploeg and Sheriff Harry Dykstra of Orange City investigated. The coroner stated that death was due to asphyxiation.

The officers reported that evidently Mr. Henry had lit his oil stove and then fallen asleep. It is believed that Mr. Henry died some time Sunday night.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Frazier Funeral Home with Reverend B. Roy Brown officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

He was born October 18, 1895, at Loneboro, Maryland. He came to Hawarden with his parents in his youth. He worked as a farm laborer. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors are two brothers, Charles of Hawarden and Lawrence of Bellflower, California, and two sisters, Mrs. Chester Marshall of Hawarden and Miss Carrie Shoop of Elk Point, South Dakota.
