From the Sioux County Index (Hull), June 15, 1923:

Sudden Death of Baby.

Relatives and friends were shocked last Saturday to hear of the death of the two months old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Kosters, formerly of this vicinity but now of a couple of miles south of Middleburg. The little one was not sick for any length of time, but died from an acute case of some form of colic before anyone was aware of its condition.

Services were held Monday afternoon from the First Reformed church of Hull, Rev. DePree of Sioux Center having charge. Burial was made in Hope Cemetery. The Index joins in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

(Another news note in the same issue says he was a grandson of D. Vant Hull)

LITTLE CHILD PASSES AWAY
Infant Son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Kosters Dies of Mysterious Ailment

Andrew Ervin Kosters, the two months old child of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Kosters, died last Friday at 2:30 A.M., after an illness of only two days. Doctors were unable to diagnose the child's ailment. He was a fine baby, strong and plump, and it was a severe blow to the parents for him to be taken away.

The funeral was held Monday from the home and from the First Ref. church at Hull, Rev. James De Pree officiating in the absence of Rev. Kregel of Hull and Rev. Haverkamp of the Central Ref. church at Sioux Center.

Andrew was born on April 10, leaving this life on June 8th. The sorrowing parents have the heartfelt sympathy of their legion of friends.
