Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Henry, 61, lifelong Hawarden resident, who died Tuesday morning at the Hawarden Hospital after an illness of six weeks, will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral Home and at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Church. Reverend C.E. Custer will officiate with burial in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Thelma Knapp was born January 7, 1900, in Calliope, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.S. Knapp.

She married Victor Cope in 1924 to which union a daughter, Ethel, now Mrs. Wilbert Hoffman of Stuart, Nebraska, was born. Mr. Cope died in 1925.

In 1926 she married Ervin Henry who preceded her in death in 1950. For several years she made her home here with her mother, Mrs. Lillie Knapp. Living with them was her adopted daughter, Laura Marie Henry. She was a member of the Methodist Church for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hoffman of Stuart, and Laura, age 12, at home; her mother, Mrs. Knapp, who recently went to Sioux City to make her home with another daughter; two brothers, Charles H. Knapp of Philadelphia and James H. Knapp of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Yates of Chamberlain, South Dakota and Mrs. Ben Whitmore of Sioux City and two grandsons.
