Hold last rites at Sioux Center for B. Groeneweg

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday for Bastian Groeneweg, 77, from the Netherland Reformed church in Sioux Center. Mr. Groeneweg died at his home Saturday, after a brief illness.

Services were conducted from the Vander Ploeg funeral home in Sheldon at 12:30 p.m. and from the church at 2 p.m. Burial was in Valley View cemetery here.

Mr. Groeneweg was born March 26, 1882, in The Netherlands. He farmed around Rock Valley for about 50 years.

Survivors include the widow, Lydia; five sons, Leonard, John,Simon, Walter and Albert all of Rock Valley; four daughters, Mrs. Henry Van Ginkel and Mrs. John Bauman, both of Rock Valley, Mrs. Dick De Vries of Orange City and Mrs. Clarence Terpstra of Hawarden. Also one sister, Mrs. Tim Kooima of Rock Valley; 34 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
