Sioux Center News September 5, 1984

George Winter, 85, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux Center, died Sunday, August 26, in Omaha. Services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, in the Dundee Presbyterian Church in Omaha. The Rev. Robert McLoed officiated. Graveside services were, at 5 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center with Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. The Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sioux Center was in charge.
Mr. Winter was born Jan. 25, 1899, in Sioux Center. He married Martha Van Ek. She died in 1931. He worked at the International Milling Co. in Sioux City for 26 years. He was a grain dealer for Conagra before his retirement. He was a member of Dundee Presbyterian Church and a former member of American Legion Monahan Post Band in Sioux City.
Survivors include a son, Jerry of Avon Lake, Ohio; a brother, Clifton of Kent, Wash.; a sister, Edna Rislov of Minneapolis, and three grandchildren.
