Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Church in Rock Valley Thursday morning for William John Hazlitt who died in the Hudson Community Hospital last Tuesday, July 29. Deceased who was well known here as the family attends church here in Rock Valley. He was 59 years old when he passed away.

William John was born June 24, 1893, the son of William Hazlitt and Annie Gourley Hazlitt on a farm four miles north of Hudson. He graduated from the country school and attended the Catholic School in Hawarden one year. He never married and worked on a farm laborer on Minnesota dairy farms.

Mr. Hazlitt was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He leaves to mourn his loss, his two sisters, Mrs. Ed Vandemore of Hudson and Mrs. Henry Anderson of Canton and one brother James Hazlitt of Baltimore, Maryland, also ten nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Vander More Funeral Home of Canton and the American Legion of Hudson had charge of the services at the cemetery.
