Mrs. Leo Brown Passed Away Monday at Ft. Madison, Iowa Mrs. Leo Brown former well known resident of Hawarden and Ireton vicinity, passed away at 2:45 Monday morning at a hospital in Ft. Madison, Iowa, following an illness of only three days duration. She suffered a rupture at her home at Niota, IL. on Christmas night and her condition became so critical at once that she was immediately removed to a hospital in Ft. Madison where the end came following a period of intense suffering.

Her son. Robert J. Wright of this city, was notified Friday morning of her critical illness and departed at once for Ft. Madison and was at her bedside at the time of her death. He accompanied the remains to Hawarden, arriving here Tuesday night while her husband drove through from Ft. Madison, reaching here Wednesday morning.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 1:15 Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. A. WinterStein, and interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery.

Hester A. Wood was born near Rudd, Iowa, Sept, 21, 1872, and died at Ft. Madison, lowa, Dec, 29, 1924, at the age of 52 years, 3 months and 8 days. The family came to Ireton from Floyd county, Iowa, in 1890 and in 1891 she was united in marriage with Fred Wright. They continued to reside in the vicinity of Ireton for about ten years after their marriage when they moved to Hawarden and resided here for two or three years. About 1903 they moved to Marshalltown, lowa and Mr. Wright's death occurred in the fall of 1904.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wright, one dying in infancy. One son, Lloyd, met death in an accident in 1915, One son, Robert J. Wright of this city, and one daughter, Mary, survive her.

A year or two after the death of Mr. Wright she was united in marriage with Leo. Brown. They lived at various places and finally located at Niota, IL.

Besides her husband and two children she is survived by five brothers and one sister. They are: D. A. Wood of Medford, Ore., D. S. Wood of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. David Atchison of Kansas City, Mr. D. J. Wood of Clark, S. D., and F. E. and I. L. Wood of Hawarden
