Mrs. Dirk Broek
Mrs, D. Broek died early Sunday
morning at her home here, and funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ypma of the 2nd Christian Ref. church Tuesday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Broek came here from Hull three months ago, but lived in this vicinity some years aso. Mrs. Broek is survived by her husband and two children. Wm Broek of Melvin and Mrs. Henry Brinkman of Hull. The mother was preceded in death by six children.
one of whom is buried in the cemetery here, and beside this child the mother as laid to rest. Mrs. Broek was 65 years of age. She was a good Christian woman oved by all who knew her.

Mrs. D. Broek Dies
Mrs. D. Broek, formerly of this place died last Saturday at her home at Sioux Center and was buried here Tuesday. She was the mother of Mrs. H. Brinkman of north of Hull to whom the sincere sympathy of all is extended. Many from Hull attended the funeral.

Note: This was Mrs. Dirk Broek nee Styntje Van Aarst They had a daughter born abt 1889 Gertie who married Henry Brinkman and a son William born 1895 died in Sibley 1981.

This lady can be easily confused with Mrs. David Broek.
From a family report on ancestry.com Derk Broek 1959-1932 and Stientje Van Aarst 31 Dec 1861, she was the daughter of Gerrit Van Aarst and Geertje Knol.
According to the family report Derk Broek born 30 Dec 1859 Kampen OV Neth. died 14 Jun 1932 in Kampen….but see his probate in listed in the Sioux County IA papers of Alton and Hawarden in eptember of 1932 so thought he must have died in Sioux County IA. However, there is a death record found on www.wiewaswie for Derk Broek born Kampen age 72, son of Jan Jans Broek and Stijntje Van Wijhe, wife was Steintje Van Aarst died 14 Jun 1932, he may have had more children in the Netherlands. He must have gone back to the Netherlands.
He had a brother David Broek and Barteld Broek of Sioux Center.
In the 1920 census Dick Broek was 60 years of age born in Neth, lived in Lincoln tsp Sioux county wife was Christina born about 1862 Netherlands
