John Brouwer died at his home on Monday evening at the age of 72 years, ten months and 24 days. He was born at Stadskauaal, Netherlands, on Nov. 11, 1861. In January 1884 he was married to Marchien Boswyk in Holland.

To this union three children were born as follows: Mrs. Ed Rensink Maggie of Newkirk; Mrs. Jerry Dyksterhuis Jantina of Hospers, and Dick of Sheldon. Deceased came to America in 1882
and settled on a farm one mile west of Hospers where Mrs. Brouwer died in August. 1888.

In 1917 he sold the farm and moved to town. On January 6, 1928 ho was united in marriage to Mrs. Koksma, who also survives .him. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday. Sept. 27 at 2:00 o'clock at the home.
