John Harthoorn, 57, of Inwood died Friday, July 23 in Canton, South Dakota doctors office suffering an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 27, 2:00 P.M. in the Christian Reformed Church with the Reverend Martin Gritters officiating. Organist, Mrs. Everett Van Ginkel accompanied by duel, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Folkerts during the hymn.

Pallbearers were Louis Kollis, Leonard Cleveringa, Henry M. Blankespoor, Arie Intveld, Roger Halms and Ronald Faber. Burial was in Richland Cemetery in Inwood under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Harthoorn was born on January 18, 1904 in Grinnell, Iowa. Cornelia Verburg of Hull, Iowa, age 26, daughter of Bert Verburg and Marie Orange and John Harthoorn age 30 born Grinnel Iowa, son of C. G. Harthoorn and Gerritje Van Donkelaa Harthoorn, were married February 15, 1933 in Inwood, Lyon, Iowa. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors are his widow, four brothers, Gerrit of Rock Rapids, Case of Rock Valley, Matt of Matlock, Iowa and Kors of Boyden; two sisters, Mrs. Siebolt Faber of Inwood and Mrs. John H. Groeneving of Hull.
