Gerritson Services Held Friday

Funeral services were held Friday, at the Methodist church
For Mrs. Tom Gerritson. Rev. M. Nelson officiated.

Mrs, Gerritson (nee Jennie Steck) died unexpectedly at her home Wednesday morning, June 10, about 6:15 a.m. She was born
in Winscolten, Holland, Nov. 11 1879, to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Steck. She came to this country at the age of eight years and has
resided in this vicinity all her life.

Mrs. Gerritson married Dick Groen, to this union a daughter, Nellie and a son, Dick, were born. Mr. Groen and son, Dick, preceded
her in death.

She married Tom Gerritson Dec. 22, 1904 and to them 12 children were born, six of them preceding Mrs. Gcrritson in death.

She is survived by her husband; seven children, "Nellie" Mrs. Siebert Kening of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Ida, Mrs. Ray Hoon of Sioux City; John of Inwood; Case of Rock Valley; Ann, Mrs. John Scholten of Hull; Albert of Charles City; Bill at home and Elizabeth,
Mrs. Guy Morganstein of Denver, Col.; 30 grandchildren: 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Ann, Mrs. Case Brewer; and two brothers, Delco Steck of Rock Valley and Jerry of Torrence, Calif. Three brothers, Ben, Dan and Tony preceded her in death. Burial was in Valley View cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Kooima, Bernard Splear, Jack Vande Weerd, James Bogaard, Harry Hewitt and Sam Vogelzang.
