Mrs. W. Brinkman (nee Anna DeVries) was born in the Netherlands, Febr. 25, 1849. After her marriage in 1868 she came with her husband and two children to America and settled in Boyden, la. in the year 1890. For 21 years the family lived in and around Sheldon. Her only daughter died 16 years ago, and her husband 11 years ago, so that since that time she lived with her son Henry.

More than three years ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis and was practically helpless since. A
little over a week ago another stroke hastened her death, which occurred Thursday, Dec. 8th, Mrs.
Brinkman died at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 13 days.

Funeral services were held Monday Dec. 11, at the Brinkman home on 3rd Ave. Rev. Webenga of Ireton,
Iowa, conducted the services in the absence of Rev. Vis. Burial was made at Boyden.
