Aart Vanden Berg passed away at three o'clock on the morning of March 14th, after several weeks illness. Death was caused by general debility resulting from old age. He was 74 years old at the time of his death. Aart Vanden Berg was born in the Netherlands. He was married to Johanna Rexwinkel, and the children who survive him are G. Vanden Berg and Lydia Vanden Berg. Mr. Vanden Berg was one of our prosperous farmers. He died at his farm home one mile south of Alton. He was a faithful member of the Reformed church at Alton and was one of our honorable and highly respected citizens. The funeral will be held at the Reformed church at Alton at two o'clock P. M. Saturday, March 15th. Interment will be made in Nassau cemetery. The bereaved family and friends have the sympathy of the community in their hour of sorrow.
