Boer, Gertrude (Mrs. Roelof) 1840-1917. She was first married to Ira Arie De Raad 1829-1891, she is buried in Nassau Township cemeter Alton according to the WPA Index.
Her parents were Arie Rysdam 1804-1867 and Gerturuy Van Maanen. She was the mother of 10 DeRaad children.

ALTON PIONEER PASSES AWAY.
Roelof Boer died at his home in Alton on Sunday, September 2, at the age of 84 years, his death being caused by the ailments of old age.
He was born in the year 1833 in Staphorst, the Netherlands, coming to the United States and to Alton in 1883[*?]. His occupation has been that of a day laborer, his disposition quiet and he was a devout member in the Dutch Reformed church. Mr. Boer was married twice, first to Miss Hilligje Harens in the Netherlands 63 years ago. They had four children, Klass [*Klaas], in Java, Dutch East Indies, who the family has not seen for 32 years and whose wife is Javanese; Mrs. Henry Van Laar, now deceased; Peter of Sanborn, and John of Alton.
Second, he was married to Mrs. De Raad, 20 years ago in Alton, who survives him, although in rather feeble health, at present, her age being 78 years. He also has a brother, John, at Sioux Center, Henry, in the Netherlands; Mrs. K. Horn and Mrs. R. Horn in the Netherlands. The funeral was conducted from the house at 1:30 p.m. at Tuesday, September 4, and at 2:00 o’clock from the First Reformed church, Rev. J. P. De Jong officiating.

Those from abroad who were present were as follows: The De Raad boys from Ireton and Maurice, Peter Boer, of Sanborn, Mrs. Naberhuis of Sioux Center, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kooiker of Middleburg, Mr. and Mrs. John Kooiker of Hull, John, Jasper and Arie Muilenburg, of Sheldon and Mr. and Mrs. Al Drager of Archer. The Democrat joins in tendering sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
