Services Held Tuesday for Gerald Van Engen

Funeral services were held in Doon Tuesday for Gerald Van Engen, 30, farmer of Humboldt, S. D , who died unexpectedly Friday at a Sioux Falls hospital of a brain hemorrhage.

Services were at 1: 00 p m at the residence of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garrie Van Engen and at 1:30 p. m. at the Christian Reformed church. Rev. Dirke Bcrgsma officiated and the Vander Ploeg funeral home of Sioux Center
was in charge of arrangements.

He married the former Gertrude Boon of Rock Valley, March 20, 1949.

Survivors include the widow; six children, Marcia, Gale, Howard, Donna, Ruth and Karen; the parents and two brothers, Arnold and Elroy. One brother, Earl, was killed in an automobile accident in 1946.
