Funeral services for Leo J. Hansen, 76, of Dell Rapids, South Dakota were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dell Rapids Monday. He died Saturday at a local hospital.

Mr. Leo Hnsen was born at Alton July 1, 1886, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hansen, and is a brother to the Hansens here. He went to Dell Rapids in 1911 and in 1915 married Ida Bricker.

The couple farmed in the Dell Rapids vicinity on the same farm for 45 years, then retired and moved to Dell Rapids.

Survivors include the widow; eight sons, Magnus of Sioux Falls, Lt. Col. Lawrence Hansen of Frankfort, Germany, and Harold, Idilo, Tom, Terry, David, and Duane of Dell Rapids; eight daughters: Mrs. George King of Lake Land, Florida; Mrs. Charles Geraets of Bowerville, Minnesota; Mrs. Mike Naughton of Omaha; Mrs. Entringer of Colmon, South Dakota; Mrs. Jim Boelter of Sioux Falls; and Mrs. John Nemmers, Mrs. Roger Nelson and Mrs. Don Berg of Dell Rapids; 58 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are five brothers and four sisters: Nick, John, Mike, George of Alton, Ben of Whittemore; Mrs. John Klein, Mrs. Anna Guckenberger, both of Dell Rapids, Mrs. Mathilda Schuver, Parkston, South Dakota; Mrs. Victor Schneider of Alton. All were present at the rites.

Many other relatives from Alton and other Northwest Iowa points attended the services Monday. A nephew, Reverend Karl Hansen of Madrid assisted at the Mass.
