Daryl R. Kratochvil, 79, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Hawarden, died May 10, 2016 in Tucson. A memorial service was held May 14 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Tucson.

Daryl was born March 19, 1937 to Ben and Catherine Kratochvil in Hawarden.

Daryl and his wife, Hilda were married for 53 years. He devoted 30 plus years to his job at IBP in Nebraska. He had a big heart and a contagious smile.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Lyle (Diane) of Tucson; three grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; four sisters, LuAnn Rummelhart of Aurora, CO, LaVonne Hook of Hawarden, Patricia (Gary) Banta of Filer, ID and Virginia (Glenn) Alcott of Houston, TX; a brother Duane (Marion) of Tucson; a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Ray) Van Wyhe of Hawarden; and many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Tony Rummelhart, Royce Sherlock and Vincent Hook.
