Catherine Hofland died at St. Joseph's hospital at Sioux city Monday afternoon, following an operation for appendicitis. She was taken sick the week before and the Wednesday preceding her death was taken to Sioux City. Deceased is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hofland, and two brothers and one sister. She was a senior in the high school where she made a splendid record. Besides the members of her family she leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon, services being conducted at the American Reformed church by Revs. McEwan and Engelsman.
