Henry R. Ganzevoort passed away on Tuesday morning. He had been in fine health and death was very sudden. Clarence Wierks found him lying on the ground in the alley near the Ganzevoort barn. He immediately summoned assistance but the old gentleman was dead when they reached him. He had left the house in good health and spirits to do the chores and it seems that he was taken with heart trouble and simply dropped over where he happened to be. Deceased was born at Kollum, Friesland, Netherlands, on Sept. 22nd 1836 and was therefore 76 years, 2 months and 11 days old when he died. He came to the United States in 1867 and to Sioux county in 1884. He had been a farmer by occupation and for the past few years had resided in Hospers. He was a man who easily made friends and the news of his sudden death came as a great shock to the good people of Hospers. Deceased is survived by three sons--R. Ganzevoort and C. Ganzevoort of Hospers and Dr. Andrew Ganzevoort of Chicago. He is also survived by by{sic} his brother and sister residing in the old country. The funeral services were held from the Reformed church this Friday afternoon, Rev. G. H. Douwstra having charge of the services.
***********

Dr. Andrew Ganzevoort, who was summoned to Hospers by the sudden death of his aged father, arrived on Wednesday noon.
