Will Wolf Came to Alton at Age of 3

William Wolf, a valued citizen at Alton since pioneer days, died suddenly Tuesday morning while working outside at home. Funeral services will be held this Thursday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church at 10:00 o’clock. There will be a wake this Wednesday evening at St. Mary's chapel.
Mr. Wolf was born at Springbrook, Iowa, October 11, 1879, and came here with his parents when he was three years old. He married Miss Elizabeth Noethe at Alton June 21, 1910. She preceded him in death June 17, 1957. They farmed south of Alton until 1943 when they retired from farming and moved to Alton.
One son, Norbert Wolf, of Sioux City, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Bohr of Alton, survive their parents. He is also survived by two brothers, Peter of Remsen and Ed of Marshall, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Michael Thelen of Carroll, Iowa.
A great many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved family. Pallbearers are: John M. Pottebaum, John P. Konz, Peter Schneider, Henry Wathier, A. L. Streff and Ervin Herrig.
