From the Sioux County Index (Hull), May 19, 1922:

Old Residents Die

Hull lost two of her oldest and most respected residents, Tuesday, in the persons of H. J. Wallinga, who died at about seven o'clock [and Lucas DeKoster, obit posted separately].

Mr. Wallinga had been very sick and bed ridden for nearly a year, and suffered much, although the end was quiet and peaceful, apparently free from pain. Mr. Wallinga was a fine man, an excellent neighbor and a friend of everyone. He is survived by his wife and four sons, Peter, John, Henry and Harry. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the home and from the First Reformed church and interment will be made in Hope Cemetery. The obituary will be published next week.

From the Sioux County Index (Hull), May 26, 1922:

Henry Wallinga

It behoved Almighty God, the Heavenly Father, to take out of our midst, and also from the community, where he was esteemed, our beloved father, husband and friend, Mr. Henry Wallinga.

Mr. Wallinga was born Oct. 5, 1856, at Whitmarsum, The Netherlands. He died May 16, 1922, at his home, after a long period of suffering and distress. He is survived by his widow and four sons, Pieter, John, Harry and Henry, Jr., who live in and around Hull, except John who lives at St. Paul, Minn. Two girls have preceded Mr. Wallinga several years ago, and were awaiting the coming of their father in the heavenly home above.

Mr. Wallinga came to this country in 1883 and the first five years were spent in Michigan. In 1888 he came with his family to Sioux County living for nearly 13 years around Sioux Center, and for the balance of the time in and around Hull.

The funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, at 1:30 from the home, and at 2 o'clock from the First Reformed church where Mr. Wallinga had been a member for several years, Rev. J. H. Kregal, his pastor, and Rev. J. D. Dykstra of the American Reformed church, officiating.--Contributed.
