Charley Nield age 21, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Nield, died at his home at Marcus Iowa Dec. 12th, after a two weeks illness of typhoid fever. Charley Nield had just returned from an auto trip to Oklahoma where he, without a doubt, became infested with the fatal disease which was a severe type, from the start. All was done for him that medical aid and nursing could afford but without avail. Up to the time of his sickness Charley was employed in the First National Bank of Marcus and with a bright future before him, and was loved by his fellow workmen and townsmen, when cruel fate brought an end a life full of hope and gladness. Funeral services were held Saturday and interment was made at Marcus. Jess Nield, father of the deceased, is also confined to his bed with typhoid fever but is getting along nicely. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community.
