Mrs. Sophia Voigt died at her home southeast of town Dec. 27th after an illness of two months, and was in her 90th year. Sophia Wolf was born in Germany in 1823 and was married to Henry Voigt at the age of twenty-eight emigrating to America in 1864 they settled at Monac, Ill., moving to her present home in 1884, where she has resided since. Her husband died in 1906. Two children were born of this union, Henry of Glenullen, N.D., and Fred who has always lived at the old home south of town. Funeral services were held Monday at the German Lutheran church at Germantown and interment was made at the cemetery there. In the death of Mrs. Voigt the community loses one of the sturdy pioneers, a devoted mother and Christian citizen.
