Mrs. Dick Grevengoed Of Middleburg Is Given Last Rites

Services were held Wednesday, May 19 for Mrs. Dick Grevengoed of Middleburg, who died Sunday. She had been in failing health for the past six months, and had been a patient at Grossmann Hospital for the nine weeks preceding her death.

Born Carrie Vande Griend, in South Holland, Illinois, she moved to Sioux County in 1882, where she lived with her parents, Jacob and Neetje (Huisman) Vande Griend on a farm north of Orange City.

She was married to Andrew Vander Stoep in 1895 and to this union six children were born. Mr. Vander Stoep died in 1905.

In 1910 she was married to Dick Grevengoed, who died March 20. 1945. They were parents of four children.

Survivors are Kate (Mrs. Jacob Peters) Hospers, Floris Vander Stoep, Ireton, Edward Vander Stoep, Hollandale, Minnesota, Gerrit Grevengoed, Orange City, Jake Grevengoed, Hudson, South Dakota, Helen (Mrs. Marinus De Ruyter) Sibley, Henry Grevengoed, Orange City. Also 31 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Three children preceded her in death.

The funeral was held at Free Grace Reformed Church at Middleburg, with Reverend Andrew Baker and Reverend Ellsworth Dykstra in charge. Arrangements were made by Van Ettens.
