Funeral services for I.N. Goin, 78, who died Sunday, November 24, were held last Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Paul Friedrich officiating. Members of Bertram American Legion Post were in charge of the military rites at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Satterlee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

During the past year his health began to fail and about two months ago he was taken to the Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars. About a month ago he was transferred to the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Isaac Newton Goin, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Newton Goin, was born in Battle Creek, Iowa , August 18, 1879. He spent his childhood days in the Battle Creek community. When he was about 18 he came to Ireton, which had been his home with the exception of a about three years when he lived in California. He had taken up painting and paper hanging, which was his life’s work.

He was united in marriage to Miss Zana Bruns on December 8, 1904. A son, Ralph Loren, died in early infancy. On June 26, 1918 he enlisted in the Navy. He was discharged June 19,1919.

Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. A. Satterlee, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Peters, Mathilda, Lena and Henrietta Bruns and Mrs. Verd Satterlee, all of Sioux Falls. Mrs. Ivan Kruse of Hartley, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Williamson of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henrich of Worthington, Minnesota, and Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Hofmeister of Battle Creek, Iowa.
