Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Church, Granville, Monday morning at 10:00 o’clock, for Anna Goebel, 86, who passed away at her home in Granville Thursday evening, January 3 at 8:15 following a lingering illness. Reverend N.J. Becker officiated at the Requiem Mass.

She was born August 10, 1870, at Luxemburg, Iowa, daughter of Henry and Catherine Goebel, and resides there until 1900 when she came to Granville.

Surviving are three sisters and one brother, Mathilda and John Goebel, Mrs. Cecelia Klein, all of Granville, Mrs. Martha Wernke and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Katherine Goebel of Luxemburg, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters (Catherine) Mrs. Henry Kokenge and (Mary) Mrs. Henry Schnee, two brothers, Ernest and Henry Goebel.

Pallbearers were nephews: Henry, Leo, and Lawrence Klein, Firmin, Linus and Donald Goebel.
