Mrs. Henry Zeutenhorst Rites At Alton Reformed Church Tuesday

Mrs. Henry Zeutenhorst, nee Jennie Haze, long a resident of Alton, died March 19 at the Orange City hospital where she had been a patient since Feb. 15.
Born Aug. 4, 1883 in the Netherlands, she came to the United States and this county with her parents when a small child She was married Feb. 25, 1910 at Ireton to Henry Zeutenhorst. The couple farmed near Hull and Sioux Center and moved to Alton twenty years ago after retiring. Nov. 25, 1958 they went to the home of their daughter, Mrs. John Van Der Weide, near Maurice, where Mr. Zeutenhorst died May 25, 1959. Surviving are five children: Daisy, Mrs. John Van Der Weide of Maurice; Bernard of Alton; Edd of Rock Rapids; Irene, Mrs. Thys Kuitert of Grant's Pass, Oregon; John of Orange City; 21 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two brothers: Edd and Richard Haze, living in California.
Funeral services were held at Alton Reformed church Tuesday, Rev. Ralph Meyer officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Gebauer, Simon Scholten, Budd Aalbers, Judson Roghair, Gerrit Roghair and Bert Jansen. Interment was in Nassau township cemetery.
Mrs. Kuytert arrived at Omaha by plane from Oregon on Monday and, is a guest at the Van Der Weide home until Friday, when she will return home. A number of long-time neighbors and friends from other communities came to attend the services Tuesday. After the funeral neighbors of the Van Der Weides served coffee at the Vander Weide home. Mrs. Zeutenhorst was a devoted mother and was loved for her kindness to neighbors and friends and for her cheerful disposition.
