Miss Anna Gerst, 84, of Alton, died December 2, in an Orange City Hospital of a brief illness.

Services were at 1 P.M. December 6 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Alton. The Reverend Mervin Hood officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery with the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen in charge. The Rosary will be recited at 3 and 7:30 P.M. December 5 in the parish hall.

Miss Gerst was born April 9, 1892, in Alton. She lived and worked in the Alton area all her life. Miss Gerst was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Guild and Rosary Society.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Marie Cotton of Houston, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pall bearers were Ron Leudwig, Jr., Jim Witt, Tom Bell, Irvin Herrig, Peter Stoll, and Vic Ruppert. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
