Doris Boone, the five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Boone, died last Saturday after a prolonged illness. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. Weimers.

Note: in the obit of her mother Dora Mrs. Henry Boone it is mentioned she lost a daughter in 1912 at 6 years of age. This is believed to be the same child as is listed in the cemetery index. See the obit of Mrs. Dora Henry Boone for further details of the family.

In the 1910 Federal Census, Sioux County IA, this family is listed. The youngest child is enumerated as a SON.....the name on the ledger line is: Boone, Doris (son).
A Dutch name ending in -es or -is would be a boy.
