GRANVILLE
Two recent deaths in Pierre, South Dakota involved a former Granville man. James Bohlke, 47, the operator of the Waverly Hotel in Pierre; was found dead recently in an apartment in the hotel; he was a former Granvillite and still has relatives in the area. Bohlke was found dead alongside Eileen Boyd, with whom he had lived for several years. Police in Pierre speculate that the deaths may have been the
result of murder-suicide.

Note: The Sioux County cemetery index lists James A. Bohlke born 13 May 1929 died 20 Jun 1976 buried St. Jospeh’s cemetery Granville. The 1930 census of East Orange Township Sioux County lists William Bhlke 38 abt 1892 Iowa , Mary Bohlke 36 abt 1894 Iowa, Delores 7, Edmund 15, Margaret 12, Maybell 5 and James 0. According to the 1925 Iowa state census Mary was the dau of Henry Schnieders and Adline Leuring.
