Albert Konke, who submitted to two operations for appendicitis last week, died at the home of his parents on Thursday evening Oct. 31. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Douma at the American Reformed church Sunday afternoon, after which the remains were laid to rest in Hope cemetery. Peter Albert Konke was born on the eleventh day of February 1900 in Lincoln township, Sioux county, Iowa about four and one half miles north of Hull. He was baptized on the 28th day of March of the same year at his parent's home. In the spring of 1910 his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jergen Konke moved with their two children to the immediate vicinity of Hull, where they have resided since that date. At their home their son, Albert, the younger of their two children, died on Thursday October 31st at nine-forty o'clock in the evening. He had reached the age of twelve years, eight months and twenty days. The cause of his death was a very sudden and very severe attack of appendicitis, resulting in a complication of diseases. He realized that death was near and bade farewell to the dear ones at his side. Among the last words that he uttered was heard the prayer that Jesus would open for him the door to Heaven. His father and mother and one only brother, of whom he was the constant friend and playmate, and many other relatives and friends greviously mourn his death.
