Services Held For Mrs. Beals
Funeral services for Mrs. Harry (Carrie) Beals, 84. former Hawarden resident who died Wednesday, February 18. at Harrison Memorial hospital, Bremerton, Wash w here she had been a patient since the preceding Sunday, were held Friday afternoon at the Lewis chapel in Bremerton. Rev. Glenn officiating.

The body arrived in Hawarden Monday. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral home. Rev. C. E. Custer officiating. Burial was at Grace Hill cemetery. Mrs. Beals was born at Cedar Rapids, la., March 9, 1874. She made her home in Hawarden a number of years until her husband died in 1948. While here she was a member of the Methodist church and Loyal chapter of Eastern Star. In 1950 she went to Washington to make her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Bernice Beals at Bremerton. She suffered a heart attack last December and was hospitalized for a lime. She was able to return home but re-entered the hospital February 15. Prior to making her home at Bremerton she and her husband had made several trips to Washington where they enjoyed hunting and lake fishing and had been regular visitors since 1939.

Surviving in addition to her son are a daughter: Mrs. Cora Eberly of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Cora DeVaull of Fort Dodge, three grandchildren and two great Grandchildren
