Mrs. Herman Reit, 81 of Alvord died Saturday at a Sioux Center, Ia. hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday at the
Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley, Iowa. The Rev. L. R. Van Der Pan, of Augustana Academy, Canton, S.D. will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery here.

Mrs. Reit was born Sept. 8, 1883 at Bettendorf, Iowa. She was married to Mr. Reit in 1913 at Rock Valley. They farmed near here until moving to town in 1921.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Herman Schemel and Mrs. Alvin Kroeger both of Alvord; a son, Sgt. Herman G. of Ellsworth AFB, S.D.; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Reit of Des Moines; two brothers, Louis Jensen of Pueblo, CO. and Henry Jensen of Inwood, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
