Mrs. Emma Finch died at her home in this city Thursday, March 7, after a severe illness, at the age of 53 years and eight days.

Emma E. Walling was born in Pitcairn, St. Lawrence County, New York, February 27, 1848. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1855, and was married to Irvin Finch at Oxford, Tauna County, Iowa, in 1865. In 1889 she came to Union County, South Dakota, uniting with the Presbyterian Church in the same year and has been a constant member ever since.

She was the mother of thirteen children, of whom eight are now living: Lewis M. in Lincoln County, South Dakota; Foster L., George N. and Orson R. in Union County, South Dakota; Mrs. George Montgomery near Chatsworth, and the two youngest boys, Elmer and Rodell, living with their father in this city.
