Died: December 24, 1901Douwe Jannes Faas was born on June 21, 1838, in Menaldumadeel, Friesland, Netherlands, the child of Jan Symons Faas and Sijtske Douwes Stienstra. He married Beitske “Bessie” Vellinga on My 18, 1867, in Dronrijp, Friesland, Netherlands. They had one child, Evert, during their marriage . He passed away on March 18, 1898, at the age of 26.
Douwe died on December 24, 1901, in Chapel, Iowa, at the age of 63, and was buried in Orange City, Sioux, Iowa.
