Minnie G. Koele, 85, of Sioux Center, formerly of Hull, died Monday, November 26, at Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Reformed Church in Hull with the Reverend Verlyn Boone officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Koele was born May 8, 1916, in rural Hull, the daughter of Thys and Ruth (Gritters) Post. She was raised in Hull. She married Henry D. Koele in Sioux Falls on September 25, 1935. They farmed in Hull for 34 years, retiring into Hull in 1969. She was a nurse aide at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Home for 15 years. Her husband died August 13, 1985, in Sioux Center. She became a resident of Franken Manor in Sioux Center in May 2001.

She was a member of First Reformed Church in Hull. Her family was very important to her. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and reading.

Survivors include her eight children; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth De Vries of Sand Point, Idaho.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ron Crew; a grandson; three brothers; and five sisters.
